The indie game development landscape has a tooling problem. Studios juggle Discord for communication, Trello for project management, Notion for documentation, and Steam/itch.io for publishing — none of which talk to each other.
ForgeStudio is our attempt to build the "central nervous system" for indie studios.
Team Formation
One of the hardest parts of starting an indie game is finding the right collaborators. ForgeStudio's team formation feature matches developers, artists, musicians, and designers based on:
- Skills (Unity, Godot, pixel art, chiptune composition)
- Availability (hours/week, timezone overlap)
- Genre preferences (JRPG, roguelike, visual novel)
- Project stage (looking to start, looking to join, have a prototype)
Matching isn't algorithmic — we facilitate introductions and let teams self-organize. But the initial matching reduces the noise of cold outreach.
Project Roadmaps
ForgeStudio includes built-in sprint planning with story point estimation, milestone tracking, and release management. Our integration with GitHub means commits and PRs automatically update task status.
For remote teams, we have built-in voice channels (WebRTC) with screen sharing, plus a knowledge base for design docs and meeting notes.
Publishing Integration
When your game is ready, ForgeStudio integrates directly with Steam, itch.io, Epic Games Store, and mobile app stores. We handle the boilerplate — store page descriptions, screenshots, trailer uploads — and provide launch analytics across all platforms in one dashboard.
The Community Flywheel
ForgeStudio connects to GameVault for asset sourcing and to SocialSphere for community building. A studio formed on ForgeStudio can find assets on GameVault, build their community on SocialSphere, and publish on ForgeStudio — all within the BlueForge ecosystem.
Early beta users report saving 5-8 hours/week on administrative tasks. That's 5-8 hours more for game development.
